Erina …. reaping big already!!

When Erina walked into our office, we thought she had passed by to say hello ….

Erina was introduced to us by Hon Ruhunda Alex, as a lady he met while doing his community outreaches with the aim to educate people on the need to study IT Courses.

Erina proudly showing off her snacks for sale.

Erina said that she wanted to take an Artisan Course and in particular, she wanted to learn how to make snacks and bake cakes so that she too could sell her snacks, money from which, earn a living and support her family. We admitted her, she started the course and completed it mid this month of May 2024.

At Bridge Institute of Information Technology, we skill several persons on various artisan courses. We have the one day and the one month courses. Click to read more about these courses

Today, she walked in and presented to us mandazis and chapatis. She said she had made them herself. She also said that by midday, all her snacks are sold, and daily.

When asked what were her current challenges, she said that it is getting the formulae right. Her mandazis were still too small. We then had several discussions with her on how she work around this, including using you tube to find recipes that were tasty at the same time profitable. We eagerly await her next visit.

Any regrets? She said a big “NO”. Then she went on to tell us that today she has some money in her pocket unlike before. She said that she was also saving up to come back and take another course so that she could earn money from that as well. Well, we talked to her about the benefits too of building her skills in one path and she said she understood but she wanted to be multi skilled in artisanry so that if one business is slow moving, she benefits from another. We bought some of her scrumptious snacks, wished her the best. She asked us to thank Honorable and she left the institute, leaving us with huge smiles on our faces… another good day at Bridge Institute of Information Technology.
